More than sixty years ago Joseph Ancona Sr. and other members of the Branchville community pulled together to form the Branchville Civic Association. That group purchased land to create a safe place for the area kids to play. Today the Branchville Civic field is still used by the Town of Ridgefield for baseball and other activities. A lasting legacy of a few forward looking and community minded people who pulled together for the benefit of all.
Over the decades Ancona's Market and the Ancona family have contributed to hundreds of community organizations. Over 600 Little League teams, high school sports in Ridgefield, Redding, Weston, and Wilton and much much more.
